Looking back on Week 28

Mikael went on his first picnic this week!!! Yes, on Saturday we had a picnic at the 4/11th Battery Station Park with the basketball team and the people that we have been ministering to during last week. It was so much fun and Mikael LOVED seeing all the new faces!!! We also went to church and it was so wonderful to fellowship and worship all together again!!!
On Monday Mikael started coughing and had a runny nose :( No fun at all. So on Thursday we called the doctor. She came and said that Mikael has a cold. She told us what medicines to give him to help him fight it and so we have been giving him some but for now he is not better, it has only been one day though, so we will see :)
This week Mikael also has not wanted to drink much. He will nurse about half way and then stop, and then continues to nurse about an hour later, maybe because he is not feeling well. Also Mikael has been waking up TONS during the night some nights even up to seven times!!! So please be praying for him (and mamma), about that.
Some fun things this week-
*On Sunday Mikael splashed SOOO much in the bath!! It was so much fun seeing him enjoy it so much. Mamma was all wet!!! (Mamma usually sits on the floor beside the bath to help pappa, who is in the bath, with Mikael.)
*Mikael is sitting very confidently this week
*He is jerking back his head when he is sitting/on his belly, but like WAAAYYY back. Not quiet sure way.
*Last week Mikael realized that he can throw his toys, well this week he realized he can throw them backwards too :)
*Oh and by the way the clothes that Mikael is wearing at the moment are 12 month clothes!!!!! He is growing so fast!!! (BIG THANK YOU aunty Marieke for sending him tons of funky clothes :) )

Looking back on Week 27

Another week in the life of little Mikael! He is getting so grown up!!!
Mikael started rolling over half way all by himself this week and then on Sunday he rolled over all by himself!!! We were all lying on the bed early Sunday morning, we had placed Mikael on his back on the bed and we were all just talking together. All of a sudden we saw Mikael starting to turn and boom he was on his belly!!! It was amazing and SO super exciting!!!!




Mikael started playing games!!! This is super cute!!! On Sunday night he initiated a game of peek-a-boo!!! It was so funny!!! He was on his belly and he looked away on purpose, then he looked back at mamma and just crack up laughing, mamma then tickled him till he looked away. Then he would start all over again. He did this for about five minutes!! It was super fun and cute!!!!!
Mikael is exploring SO much and this week he found out that he can reach the bed's frame through the padding of his bed :) It was fun! See photos below :)



We also had the basket ball team fly in this week from Iowa, USA. It was fun to see old friends again and make new friends. We were also able to go to church on Sunday!!! :)
This week:
*Mikael is reaching and grabbing anything within range and he is super fast!!
*He is realizing that if things are not within his range, then his little fingers can maneuver them closer
*He is playing much more with his toys
*When he is lying on his back, he kicks his legs way up in the air and from there, he see his toes and of course they go straight into his month!
*He starting “flying” while he is on his belly and while sitting (see photo)
*His eyes look much greener this week
*He started throwing his toys
*He slept through three nights this week!!! :0)

Looking back on Week 26

This week has gone by quickly again and wow, looking back the time is just flying!!! We had snow again two or three times this week and wow - what a winter wonderland!!!

This week:

*Mikael is sitting like a “gorilla” all by himself for longer times now

*He is lying on his side all by himself.

*He is playing much more consciously with his toys

*He is talking with us more and more. The fun thing is that when we are talking on the phone with someone he will join in the conversation. It is so much fun and super cute!!!

Looking back on Week 25

The end of yet another week!! Wow how time flies.
This week has once again been full of new and interesting things :)
Mikael is not wanting to nurse so often any more. He is now eating every 3 and a half to 4 hours!!! Can you believe it! He is growing so much!!!
On Tuesday pappa and mamma were sitting on the bed with Mikael. Mikael was on his back- mamma was sitting by his legs and pappa by his head. Well Mikael wanted to face pappa so he maneuvered his body a whole 180 degree turn!!! Wow, we were so surprised!!! He is moving his body SOOO much more!!!
He is also able to lift his head up at a 90 degree angle (and sometimes more—scary!!) when he is lying on his belly.
It is so fun to see him moving and growing so much!! Mamma and pappa are SO proud of him!!!
On Wednesday mamma and pappa discovered a small blue mark on Mikael’s upper leg :( It was so sad! Mikael’s first blue mark and we have NO clue how he got it. Probably while moving around some time. We all cuddled together and read an extra story that night :)
On Thursday mamma and Mikael went to the Odessa Women’s meeting! It was so fun to see all our friends again! A six month old baby boy there and Mikael was about double his size, really! (We were planning on taking a photo, but then both of them fell asleep, next time :) )
